In England many people do not know that there were 3 "ways" in chassisnumbers. 501 RHD 5001 CKD 5501 LHD In 1948 sept-dec 501- 1208 sept-dec 5001-5258 sept-dec 5501-5705 You can see that number 5528 LHD is older than the English 1208 par example. Many times I reed, that people in Enland Think my SMM 5528 is 1949. No it is from 20-12 1948. I hope taht the list will be changed soon.

As I do not have much information on which cars are LHD or CKD they are all listed as RHD for date purpose, unless I know otherwise. The next Register list will have a more comprehensive breakdown of number allocations at the end. To do the job properly I will have to visit Gaydon to find out all the batch numbers for each type of car for each year. I will also be ammending the Registration forms to add LHD, RHD and CKD boxes. Are those the original tail lamps on SMM 4428 or was it previously fitted with L 482 lights?

Mike Perry told me that he is making a new list.
We al like to have all information of our Minors.
Now it is still is possible, when we wait to long it will not lead to success anymore. All people who know these things are growing old. also....
I am verry happy Mike will do this.

I have pictures when the car 5528 was new . It were the same little round lamps, you see om my foto. How do L482 lamps look like? What is the modell of them?

If you look carefully you can see the holes in the rear wings where another lamp might have been fitted (possibly the Lucas L471). http://www.holden.co.uk/displayproduct. ... pCode=L471Maybe they were changed by the importer? It seems strange to have just left the holes exposed.

There is a photo of L482 tail lights on the Series MM website, Car Ident, Rear Lights. They were only fitted for 6 months.

Those tail lamps are very rare and I am surprised a car still exists untampered. Good to hear it's still going. It was the same situation with the tail lamps of the MO Oxford, although they had a separate stop lamp until the more familiar 'helmet' lenses arrived.
