Traveller sliding glass seal

Hi guys i would like to change the Rubber Seal - Finger Pull - Between Sliding Rear Side Glass do you have to remove the glass to do this job

I have recently done mine as I was replacing the channels but would say it is definitely easier to do with out as it can be a bit brutal.
With mine I clamped the glass to a sheet of plywood and drove the fittings off with a hammer and block of wood, replacement was the thame with the trusty hammer and block of wood.

I didn't attempt it with the glass fitted but while I was fitting a new wood frame I fitted new seals. I found that prising with thin screw driver pushed up between the seal and the metal frame did the job easily. A smear of red rubber grease helped push the glass and the new seal in nicely.
