Genuine front wings

Post by mgl963 »

Hi everyone
I’m looking to buy some good used front wings
How can I tell if they are genuine rather than the pattern panels .
Thanks Matthew
Also have any members a good pair of front wings for sale as well as an offside rear wing for 2 door saloon ?
Desperate to get my moggy back out there on the road
I’m on Somerset Devon border

The pattern panels use a much thinner steel and are poorly crimped together around the headlight area.
It is difficult to explain the differences without reference to photos or standing next to them! "Genuine" or Heritage wings are a better product but having recently fitted a pair of brand new Heritage wings to one of my Minors, I must say that they still required quite a bit of work in order to obtain decent panel gaps all round. They really didn't fit as well as the originals but are definitely a better product than the pattern alternatives
I didn't bother looking at secondhand wings because all will have a certain amount of rust in the seams now and I wanted to avoid any return of that as much as possible.
